Let’s continue the momentum this weekend with another UFC card!
On paper, this Fox card is pretty weak compared to previous ones, but for a handicapper there is still money to be made!
The Paige VanZant hype train took a sudden stop last December when she got absolutely obliterated by Rose Namajunas. You could clearly see all her holes in her game and how truly ‘green’ she is as a fighter. You could even see that when she fought Bec Rawlings earlier this year as well. Just circling around Rawlings and not really doing anything significant up until that switch kick that she landed. Paige looked like she had not learned a damn thing from the beating she took from Namajunas. You would think it would let her see how many flaws she has, but apparently it did not. People like to talk about how bad Sage is as a fighter, but in reality Paige is 10x worse.
For Paige’s opponent, Michelle Waterson, she is a very technically sound fighter from all aspects. A very strong karate background with great standup, she is also pretty good on the ground too. If there is anything I see going for Paige in this fight it may very well be her toughness and cardio. But I expect to see Waterson still pick up the win despite the layoff she has had. It’s still a close fight coupled with the even odds that are listed, but I give Waterson the edge in the fight.
Risk 3 units on Michelle Waterson at (-120) to win 2.5 units.
